SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Anderson University women's soccer (6-3-1, 3-2 SAC) defeated non-conference opponent Converse (4-7-2, 3-4-1 CC) in a 3-0 shutout over the Valkyries. The match marks the Trojan's fifth shutout of the season.

Sarah Jacobs. "Everyone did their job and played for each other, and the result took care of itself. We are happy to flip the momentum going into the final stretch of conference play."

Camryn Woods (Bettendorf, Iowa) with an assist by sophomore
Ansley Douty (Mount Pleasant, S.C) put Anderson on the board early in the first half with a goal in the fourth minute. Rounding out the scoring for the half, a corner by Douty found the head of Woods for a 2-0 lead.
The second half was a defensive battle on the pitch with each team tallying six fouls. For a late goal in the 89th minute, Senior
Ceci Pumariega (Knoxville, Tenn.) closed off the scoring for the match with an assist by freshman
Jazel DeOliveira (Florianopolis, Brazil).
The Trojans came out on top with 15 shots, six coming on goal, and nine corner kicks with R-Sophomore goalie Aiyah Morgan (Fort Myers, Fla.) only facing one shot on goal for the match.
The Black and Gold enter the final stretch of conference play when they travel to Coker on Saturday Oct. 18 for a late afternoon matchup.
