ANDERSON, S.C. -- As the Anderson University women's golf team prepares to defend their NCAA South Region title from last season, they have been selected among the best in the country in the national preseason poll from the Women's Golf Coaches Association, as announced by the organization earlier this week.

The Black and Gold sit in the No. 5 spot in the poll as one of only two members of the South Atlantic Conference to be voted into the rankings. Wingate was the only other team, sitting at No. 18. Dallas Baptist topped the poll with Flagler sitting right behind them. Findlay and West Texas A&M were the other two to occupy spots ahead of the Trojans.

Anderson kicks off their season with the first of two hosted events in their fall slate as they travel to The Links at Stoney Point for the Meredith Insurance Kickoff on Monday, September 9. The event starts with an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start.
