Anderson Softball Releases 2025 Schedule As It Begins Tenth Season At The AU Softball Complex

ANDERSON, S.C.– Anderson University Softball has released its 2025 schedule, slated to begin at home versus USC Beaufort on February 1st.

Anderson is led by head coach Tommy Hewitt, entering his 20th season at the helm of the Black and Gold. Hewitt has guided the Trojans to 573 overall wins and seven NCAA appearances during his tenure and was named the South Atlantic Conference Coach of the Year in 2014 and 2022.

Hewitt's first 10 seasons were played on the main campus (Smethers Field) while the 2025 season begins the 10th year playing at the athletic campus (AU Softball Complex) arguably one of the best facilities in the South Atlantic Conference and the Southeast Region.

The AU Softball Complex was completed in the summer of 2015 featuring FieldTurf playing surface, spacious dugouts, chair-back seats, large video scoreboard and wireless sound system. Fans and players experience a perfect venue for softball and it has provided a first-class facility for the Trojans.

Anderson played its first game at the new facility on January 31, 2016 against nonconference opponent Lees-McRae. The Black and Gold defeated the Bobcats, 9-1. Over the previous nine seasons, the Trojans have amassed an impressive overall home record of 180-45 (80%).

The 2025 50-game regular season will feature 28 home games and 22 road games. The Trojans will open the season at home versus nonconference opponent USC Beaufort on Saturday, Feb. 1st and will remain at home on the 4th to host North Greenville before taking their first road trip to square off with Clark Atlanta.

The Black and Gold will also have home contests against nonconference opponents Southern Wesleyan, Emmauel, UNC Pembroke, Lees-McRae, Claflin and Chowan with SAC home games against Wingate, Carson-Newman, UVA Wise, Lenoir-Rhyne, Mars Hill, and Emory & Henry.

The Trojans will have road trips to nonconference opponents Augusta, Converse, Barton and USC Aiken with SAC road games against Tusculum, Newberry, Lincoln Memorial, Limestone, Catawba and Coker.

First-pitch of the season home opener versus USC Beaufort is scheduled for 1:30 pm on Saturday February 1st.
