Box Score ANDERSON, S.C. – Anderson University women's soccer (2-1) remain unbeaten on its home turf defeating Shorter, 6-0, on Wednesday evening at Spero Financial Field.
"I'm proud of the team's performance tonight," said head coach Sarah Jacobs. "We had solid contributions from a lot of different players. We created a lot of opportunities and were happy to put the ball in the back of the net."
The Trojans possessed the ball most of the match, outshooting the Lady Hawks 49-1 with 21 of those shots coming on goal.
Six different Trojans scored a goal with 15 different players taking at least one shot on the evening. Junior Bethany Anderson scored first in the 15th minute of action, followed by freshman Camryn Woods goal in the 24th minute to close out the first half scoring.
Junior Emma Deadwyler began the second half scoring on a long run just inside the 46th minute of play. Freshman Sophie Wohl scored her first career goal in the 50th minute with senior Haley Sanneman and junior Claudia Watson capping off the night with a goal in the 78th minute and 82nd minute, respectively.
Anderson shared the duties in the goal with senior Jeanette Campbell playing the first half. Sophomore Macy McDufford played just over 34 minutes, while junior Victoria McGovern finished the night in goal with 10 minutes and 45 seconds of action.
The Black and Gold remain home to host nonconference opponent Belmont Abbey on Saturday. Kick-off is slated for 5 pm.
