Women's Soccer Drops Home Contest Versus Lenoir-Rhyne; 2-1

ANDERSON, S.C – Anderson University women's soccer (2-4-1) dropped a, 2-1, decision against South Atlantic Conference opponent Lenoir-Rhyne (4-1-2) on Saturday afternoon at Spero Financial Field.

"The girls battled against a very good LR team," said head coach Sarah Jacobs. "We will get back to work this week with another opponent on Wednesday."

Lenoir-Rhyne built a, 2-0, halfway through the first half of play, scoring goals in the third and twenty six minute of action. The Bears were able to stave off the Trojans in the second half to win, 2-1.

Anderson's Haley Sink's unassisted goal at the 32:10 mark in the first half, cut the lead to one goal. The Trojans had several near makes to tie the match, but just fell short.

The Bears outshot the Trojans 17 -8 with Lenoir-Rhyne winning the corner kick advantage, 5-1.

Anderson keeper Jeanette Campbell recorded seven saves for the Trojans.

The Trojans will host Queens on Wednesday. Kick-off is slated for 5 pm.
