Box Score

ANDERSON, S.C.- The Anderson University women's basketball team used a strong opening period and a career night from junior Jasmine Raynor to earn the season sweep over South Atlantic Conference opponent Coker, 83-56, Saturday afternoon at the Abney Athletic Center.

With the win, Anderson improves to 15-5 overall and 12-4 in the league while Coker falls to 5-16 overall and 4-12 in the conference action.

The Trojans were paced by Raynor's career-high 17 points on 6-of-10 from the floor and 4-of-4 from the free throw line. Freshman Alex Mollenhauer set the tone in the first half scoring all 12 points in the first two periods while senior Jasmine Franklin dropped in 11 points for Anderson.

Capping off the Black and Gold's scoring was senior Bailey Sims(9), sophomore Erika Martin(9), freshman Makayla Green(8), freshman Madison Baggett(6), Kaylee Koerperich(5), senior Heather Jankowy(2), senior Nakia Young(2) and Hannah Hodges(2). Koerperich also ripped down a game-high nine rebounds, tying her career-high.

Coker's lone double-digit scorer was Iresha Cooper with 17 points and a team-high seven rebounds. Cooper was a perfect 5-for-5 from the charity stripe.

Anderson led wire-to-wire outscoring the Cobras 23-8 in the opening period. The Trojans shot just below 50% for the game while holding Coker to 33.9% from the floor and 9.1% from behind the arc.

Head Coach Jonathon Barbaree's Thoughts: "I was proud of our effort today and I felt like we really competed hard. We went after every 50/50 ball. We need to continue to work hard down the stretch and finish strong."
