Trojans Ranked No. 16 in WBCA National Poll

Box Score

LILBURN, Ga. - With its perfect 4-0 start to open the season, Anderson University women's basketball continues to climb up the USA TODAY Sports NCAA Division II Top 25 Coaches Poll, as the Trojans moved one spot to No. 16 in this week's poll, announced by the Women's Basketball Coaches Association on Tuesday.

AU continues to earn its highest ranking of the season for the fourth straight week after opening the year slotted in the 22nd spot. After the start of the year, the Trojans moved to No. 19, followed by claiming the No. 17 spot last week. This week, Anderson is the only South Atlantic Conference school in the Top-25 after Carson-Newman dropped out of the poll following its pair of setbacks on the year.

The Black and Gold are one of 12 unbeaten teams within the Top-25 and one of three teams from the Southeast Region to land in the poll. Limestone continues to be the top-ranked team from the region, as the Saints earned the No. 8 position, while Peach Belt Conference member Columbus State finished just ahead of the Trojans in the No. 15 spot. Despite dropping out, the Eagles received five votes, while fellow regional opponent, Francis Marion earned 26 votes, as both teams just missed the Top-25.

After visiting Tusculum tonight in search of its fifth straight win to open the season, Anderson continues conference play on Saturday with a trip to Newberry. Tip-off from Eleazer Arena is slated for 2 p.m.
