ANDERSON, S.C. -- The Anderson men's and women's tennis teams each rolled to their second convincing win in as many days as the Trojans eased past Belmont Abbey, 9-0, on each side in Conference Carolinas action Friday afternoon at the Max Grubbs Tennis Courts. The Anderson women's team improved to 3-4 overall and 1-2 in league play, while the men's squad moved to 4-2 and 2-0 in the conference. Anderson's Angie Solorzano, Marcela Gallegos, Camie Beaulieu Brunet and Shelby Anderson all earned their second consecutive wins, while Emily Weiland earned her first singles victory of the season and senior Laura Gorman picked up a win by default at No. 6. The AU men's team also collected their second straight shutout, as the Trojans swept the doubles' point and Deni Mehagic, along with Stephane Murray each notched their third consecutive victory. John Karle ran his win streak to six matches with a straight-set at the No. 5 slot. After playing six matches in the last eight days Anderson has a six-day layoff before getting back on the courts Thursday, March 4, when the Trojans play host to Mount Olive.
