Anderson jumped out to a 14-9 cushion and went on to build a 20-16
lead before LMU rallied to knot the score at 24 apiece. The two
squads battled on even terms before LMU claimed the win as Jennifer
Drumm recorded a kill and AU committed an attack error.
AU fell behind early in the fourth frame, with LMU pushing out
to a 9-3 edge before the Trojans inched back to eventually knot the
score at 23-23 and took the win behind Marlie Bryant's serves.
LMU grabbed a quick lead in the fifth set and the Trojans stayed
within three points for most of the frame, but were not able to
recover as the Railsplitters took the double-digit win.
AU senior Jamie Lancaster shared match-high honors in kills with
LMU's Lauren Kiwacka, as each recorded 13, while the Railsplitters'
Walton and Candace Richardson each added 12 kills. The Trojans hit
