Shaquana Miller joined the Anderson University Athletics Department as the Assistant Athletic Director for Student Support in the summer of 2025.

Miller joins the Trojans after having spent the last two years at Albany State University, as their Assistant AD for Student-Athlete Success and Compliance/SWA. During her time with the Golden Rams, Miller was responsible for implementing ARMS compliance software, Chi Alpha Sigma, and helped revamp the Student Athlete Advisory Committee. She was directly responsible for the supervision of eight NCAA Division II athletic programs while managing the budget for the foundation and student scholarships.

Concurrently with her time at Albany State and presently, Miller serves as an Athletic Sports Consultant with the Association of Young Christian Higher Ed Professionals, consulting with various departments and organizations to help with marketing initiatives, departmental protocols and staff development.

In her final coaching stint before turning towards student-success and compliance full-time, Miller served as the Head Volleyball Coach and Coordinator of Compliance at Edward Waters University for two years.

Miller served as the Head Volleyball Coach at Virginia Union University in Richmond, VA from 2014-2017, where she built a successful volleyball program and developed numerous 1st Team All-Conference and All-CIAA Rookie Recognitions. She also served as Assistant AD for Compliance & Student-Athlete Academic Support.

Prior to working at VUU she served as a volleyball coach/trainer in Japan, where she trained high-school as well as college-aged student-athletes.  She spent a total of two years overseas preparing student-athletes for college careers.

In addition to her training student-athletes, Miller created a Special Olympics program in Japan.  The program consisted of training Japanese and American citizens with and without intellectual disabilities to play in the largest unified sporting event to date in Asia-Pacific.

Miller was selected to attend the NCAA Women Coaches Academy- Alliance of Women Coaches in 2015-Class of 37 and served on the CIAA Volleyball Coaches Committee and NCAA Division II All-Region Committee for the American Volleyball Coaches Association.

Miller is no stranger to the championship realm as she was a stand-out player at Fayetteville State University from 2004-2008. She was the co-captain of the 2007 CIAA Championship Volleyball team and was named First Team All-CIAA as a libero (defensive specialist). Career honors also include All-CIAA Second team honors in 2005 and First team honors in 2006. Shaquana led the teams in digs for three seasons from 2005 to 2007. Her total number of digs increased from 380 her sophomore year to 578 in her senior season. Totaling over 1500 digs in her college career. She led the conference in digs from her sophomore year to her final year as a libero. Additionally, Shaquana's play on the court, landed her Top 50 as a defensive specialist and 2nd Team All-American Honors.

As a result of her athletic prowess and success, she was inducted into the Sports Hall of Fame at Fayetteville State University on February 15, 2020. She was also named a 2024 Albany 40 Under 40 Winner.

She is currently participating in many career development programs, including the 2024-25 NACDA Senior Administrators Mentoring Institute, 2024 Women Leaders in Sports Institute for Advancement, 2024-25 Carl Vinson Institute of Government Leadership, 2024-25 DII ADA Women and Minority Mentoring Program, the NCAA Women Leaders DII Governance Academy, NAAC Awards Committee and the NAAC ACE Mentoring Program.

Miller, a Richmond, Va. native earned her bachelor’s degree in physical education from Fayetteville State University in 2008 and received her master's in sports management from Georgetown University in Washington, DC. She is currently working on her doctorate in sport and athletic management at North Central University, with an expected matriculation of May 2027.

A proud member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc, she is currently married to Emmanuel University’s Vice President for Student Life, Mr. Mandrake Miller.
