Anderson University

Coker temp HS

Daniel Coker

Anderson golf alum, Daniel Coker, assumed the role of Head Men's Golf Coach in the summer of 2025.

"I could not be more excited about Daniel Coker coming home to Anderson University to be our new Head Men's Coach," said Moore. "It was a great pleasure coaching him here when he was a student-athlete.  He was a part of the most successful run in AU Men's Golf history, and helped our program to it's first-ever No. 1 ranking.  He was always one of the most even keel players I have been around in my 10 years coaching here at Anderson.  He was also one of the grittiest players I have ever coached.  I had no doubt that every single time he teed it up that we were going to get his absolute best effort.  He was a tremendous student here as well."

A native of Hartsville, S.C., Coker was a four-year starter for the Trojans from 2020-2024. In his debut tournament wearing the Black and Gold, Coker finished 12th individually at West Georgia's Matt Dyas Invitational, aiding the Trojan lineup to a team victory. In his final competition as a Trojan, Coker finished 14th on the leaderboard to assist Anderson to a third-place team finish at the South Atlantic Conference Championships.

Coker's career included one of the best year's in Anderson Men's Golf history. For the 2022-2023 season, AU won six regular-season tournaments before claiming their first-ever SAC title with a 25-stroke win in Hickory, N.C.

A 2024 Cobalt Golf All-American Scholar and 2023 CSC Academic All-District Honoree, Coker's time as an Anderson student-athlete was defined by high standards both on the course and in the classroom.

"All of Daniel's qualities on the course are what make me believe he is going to be a fantastic coach.  The way he thinks, the way he stays in the moment, and the way he carried himself as a player are all great qualities that I expect to bleed right into our players here," added Moore. "He is also just a man of great faith.  His love for the Lord makes him the absolute perfect fit for this job, and more importantly for this university.  I always knew he would be a great ambassador for this university no matter what path he chose after college.  To have him back home now with our program leading these young me should have everyone as excited as I am about the future of Anderson University Men's Golf.  I can't wait to get to work with him right away and keep this men's program on the exciting upward trajectory that it has been on the last two years.  GO TROJANS!"
