Anderson, S.C.- Anderson softball used 25 hits and solid pitching to sweep nonconference opponent Converse, 11-0 (5 innings) in game one while winning game two 9-1 (5 innings) on Saturday afternoon at the AU Softball Complex.
With the sweep, Anderson moves to 10-4 overall while Converse drops to 1-7 overall.
Game 1- Anderson 11 Converse 0 - 5 innings
Anderson exploded for eight runs in the bottom of the first inning while finishing the game with 14 total hit. Of the 14 hits, six were for extra bases.
The Black and Gold added solo runs in the second, third and fourth to end the game in the fifth inning mercy rule.
Junior Meghan Majeski batted 2-for-2 with two runs scored while freshman Sydney Belcher went 3-for-3 with two doubles and two runs scored. Freshman Josie NesSmith batted 2-for-2 while classmate Morgan Charter batted 2-for-3 with a triple.
Sophomore Harlie Duncan (6-1) tossed a two-hitter striking out four.

Game Two- Anderson 9 Converse 1
Anderson scored four runs in the first and three runs in the second to claim an early 7-0 lead. The Trojans scored one in the bottom of the fourth to push its lead to 8-0.
Converse scored a run in the top of the fifth to extend the game which ended after Anderson scored a run in the bottom of the fifth, 8-1.
Boatner batted 2-for-2 with a homerun, a double and four RBI while Majeski collected two hits in two at-bats.
Sophomore Kayla Pepper (4-3) gave up four hits while striking out nine batters.

Anderson remains home to face nonconference opponent Lander on Monday. First pitch of the doubleheader is scheduled for 5 pm.
