Niles Named AstroTurf SAC Player of the Week

 

 

 

ANDERSON, S.C.- Anderson University softball senior Cailah Niles was named AstroTurf South Atlantic Conference Player of the Week, as announced by the conference office Tuesday.

 

Niles batted 5-for-8 (.625) with two doubles a home run and six RBI in the season opening doubleheader versus Southern Wesleyan. During the nightcap, Nilesblasted her record breaking 48th career home run with two-outs in the third inning of action. The Phenix City, Ala. native now holds the all-time career home run record for Anderson University and the South Atlantic Conference that was previously held by 2014 AU graduate and assistant coach Abby Child.

 

Anderson returns to the diamond today for a doubleheader matchup with nonconference opponent Converse. First-pitch is slated for 2 p.m.
