ANDERSON, S.C. – Anderson University men's soccer head coach Michael Zion has announced the hiring of Miguel Teos as the team's new assistant coach, announced by Zion on Thursday.
Teos joins Anderson from Wayland Baptist University in Plainview, Texas where he served as a part-time assistant coach for the Pioneer men's soccer team from 2014 - 2016. In 2016, Teos was named as the full-time assistant, where he helped guide the program to its first ever NAIA National Championship and back to back regular season and tournament championships in the Sooner Athletic Conference. Teos was named to the NSCAA National Coaching Staff of the Year in 2017.
In 2014, Teos had a professional stint with Rayo Oklahoma City FC and trained with Professional MLS club Real Salt Lake in 2017. Teos has also played in both the PDL and NPSL with Upward Stars and the West Virginia Kings Warriors.
Teos played for the Wayland Baptist for two seasons, earning Newcomer of the year in the Sooner Athletic Conference, as well as a two-time first team SAC honoree. For his career, he scored three times while assisting on 15 goals. Teos was named an All-American following his senior year.
Before coming to Wayland, he also played two seasons at Spartanburg Methodist University in Spartanburg, S.C. where he was an All-Region X 1st Team player in both his freshman and sophomore seasons.
Teos graduated from Wayland Baptist in 2013 with a BA in Spanish and minor in Business.
