Anderson native Denton Moore, who played for the Trojans from 2003-2008, was named an assistant coach with the AU golf program in May, 2014.  

After wrapping up his prep career at T. L. Hanna High School in Anderson, Moore was named the recipient of the Anderson County Men’s Golf Association Scholarship and went on to play collegiately for AU. Following a career that saw Moore earn Carolinas-Virginia Athletic Conference All- Conference honors in 2006, he has served as a PGA Head Professional at three golf courses, including the Anderson Country Club, Ladies Island Country Club and Cobb’s Glen Country Club.

Moore is currently the Head Professional at Cobb’s Glen, where he oversees the club’s employees and scheduling, while coordinating and directing corporate outings at the course. Moore also coordinates membership drives and fundraising and manages sales and inventory for the club’s Pro Shop.

He volunteers as the Director of Little Legends at Cobb’s Glen as well as serving as Co-Director of the Anderson County Junior Golf Association. 

Moore manages the Anderson University men’s and women’s golf social media sites, including Instagram, Twitter and Facebook, and assists with team practices at Cobb’s Glen and accompanies the squads to their road matches.

Moore earned his bachelors’ degree in Psychology from Anderson University in 2007 and resides in Anderson.
