ROCK HILL, S.C. – Following a stellar week on the diamond, junior Brandon Odachowski has been named the AstroTurf South Atlantic Conference Baseball Player of the Week, as announced by the conference office Tuesday afternoon.
Odachowski helped lead the Trojans to a 3-1 record, including a three-game sweep of conference-opponent Coker over the weekend by going 5-for-13 (.385) at the plate, while belting a pair of home runs and driving in five runs on the week. He also scored three runs, posted a pair of doubles and drew two walks for a 1.000 slugging percentage and a .467 on-base percentage over the four-game stretch.
The Williamston, S.C., native began the week with a double and a home run in four at-bats in a road loss at regionally-ranked North Greenville, and was 2-for-4 in last Friday's 8-2 win over the Cobras. He belted a two-run homer in the fourth inning and drove in another run with a two-out single in the fifth inning. Odachowski posted an RBI-double and a pair of walks in Saturday's doubleheader and has reached base safely in six straight games.
