Monica Lopes joined the Trojan athletic training staff in September 2013 after serving as a Graduate Assistant athletic trainer at Clemson University. Lopes works with the women’s soccer, men’s basketball and baseball teams.
Monica came to AU from Clemson University where she worked as a Graduate Assistant Athletic Trainer covering the No. 13 women’s tennis team, with four of the players ranked in the top 30. Her first year with tennis, she attended the first and second rounds of NCAA. During her second year at Clemson she attended the Sweet Sixteen for the team event and the Elite Eight for the individual singles round of NCAA. While attending Clemson University Monica received a Master’s of Science degree in Youth Development Leadership.
Before attending Clemson, Monica was a Volunteer Assistant Athletic Trainer at Saint James High School in Murrells Inlet, S.C. where she worked for a year, helping out a few days a week with any medical coverage help the fulltime head and assistant athletic trainer needed.
Monica graduated from College of Charleston with a Bachelors of Science in Athletic Training in 2010. She was a student athletic trainer in learning with The Citadel football team, College of Charleston women’s soccer and softball team, and Wando High School spring sports.
