COUCHENOUR JOINS VOLLEYBALL TEAM

ANDERSON, S.C. -- Anderson head women's volleyball coach Craig Mosqueda has announced that Kristi Couchenour will join the Trojan volleyball team in 2010. Couchenour, a 5-foot-11 right-side hitter out of Columbiana (Ohio) High School, was named first-team all-district, all-county and All-Inter Tri County League following both her junior and senior campaigns, earning a unanimous nod after her senior season. She served as team captain last season and won the Columbiana Lady Clipper Award her junior and senior years, while claiming the team’s MVP Award both years. Couchenour was a starter on the ITCL Upper Tier All-Star squad and in the Northeast Ohio (District One) All-Star Senior Volleyball Classic. Couchenour was named the Veterans of Foreign Wars Outstanding High School Senior Athlete of the Year and was a District 6 Athlete of the Year Finalist. She also excelled off the court, earning ITCL Conference All-Academic Team accolades and garnered the Clippers’ Volleyball Academic Award her senior year. Couchenour graduated first in her class with a 4.0 GPA and was active as class treasurer and served on student government and several student committees. Couchenour joins seven other newcomers who will be making their debut on the court when Anderson begins the season with the Anderson Invitational on Sept. 3-4.
