Trojans Rally To Beat Lees-McRae

BANNER ELK, N.C. -- Anderson University rallied from an 11-point deficit to beat Lees-McRae 66-64 in a Conference Carolinas game Thursday night. The stops were the story." Anderson, 8-11 overall and 6-6 in the conference, trailed 53-42 with 8:09 remaining. But a 15-4 run by the Trojans tied the game at 57 with 2:54 remaining. Lees-McRae's Raysean Hairston made one of two free throw attempts to tie the game at 63 with 46 seconds to play. With 15 seconds remaining, Anderson's Kevis Cornwell scored a field goal to give the Trojans a 65-63 lead. He has scored in double figures in 18 of 19 games and has tallied 20 or more points in Anderson's last four games. Young was 10-for-19 from the field and also had three assists and three steals in 40 minutes. "I'm glad Brandon is on our team," Taylor said. "He's going to be a special player. He is still learning." Following Young for Anderson were Cornwell with 11 points, Fudzinskas with 10 points and a career-high 12 rebounds and Stephen Cobb with 10 points.
