Queens University of Charlotte Rolls To A 74-58 Victory Over AndersonJanuary 12, 2006
ANDERSON, S.C. - Queens University of Charlotte jumped out to a 25-point lead in the first 17 minutes of the game and cruised to a 74-58 victory over Anderson University in a CVAC men's game Thursday night at the Abney Center. Queens, 9-2 overall and 3-1 in the CVAC, shot 50 percent in the first half while limiting Anderson to 29 percent to seize a 39-17 halftime lead. In the second half, Anderson used a 25-9 run during an eight-minute span to cut a 26-point deficit to 10 – 64-54 – with 2:58 to play, but the Trojans could get no closer. Chris Jones of Queens led all scorers with 19 points. Timon Farley added 17, Kendrick Harris scored 12, and Esau Eatman chipped in 11 for the Royals. Jones was 9-for-11 from the field and also had five rebounds. Harris had a game-high 11 rebounds and seven of Queens' 19 assists. O'Tey Sellers was Anderson's leading scorer with 15 points. Nathan Russell finished with 13 and John LeSueur had 10 for the Trojans. Led by Harris, Queens dominated the boards, 43-24. Queens finished the game at 51 percent from the field, while Anderson managed just 35 percent.
