Hash Scores 12 Points, as West All-Stars Pull Away to Win 121-109

EVANSVILLE, Ind. – The National Association of Basketball Coaches West All-Stars used a 21-13 run to pull away in the first half and cruised to a 121-109 victory over the East All-Stars Friday evening at the Ford Center in Evansville, Indiana. The West All-Stars have won seven of the nine all-star games since the inaugural in 2006.

Anderson sharpshooter Chandler Hash tossed in 12 points, six in each half and added five rebounds, an assist and a pair of steals in 19 minutes of action.  
 
The West surged in the middle part of the first half, building an 18-point lead, 48-30, with 5:37 left before halftime. The East rallied to in the final five minutes of the opening half and slashed the deficit to seven points, 59-52, by the intermission.
 
Leading the way in the first half for the West was Delta State University forward/center Willie Readus and Central Washington University guard Mark McLaughin with 10 points each. The East was led in the opening 20 minutes by the 10-point performance of Tarleton State University guard Chuck Guy.
 
In the second half, the West was able to match the East run for run and never led by fewer than five points before ending the game with the 121-109 victory. The second half leaders for the West were Angelo State University forward Kenny Williams, who had 14 points, and McLaughlin, who had a second half of 10 points. The East was paced by Southwestern Oklahoma State University guard Rod Camphor, who had 14 points, and University of Southern Indiana center Aaron Nelson, who had 12 points.
 
Overall, the West was led by Williams and McLaughlin with 20 points each, while Readus finished with 19 points and a game-high 10 rebounds.  Nelson, Camphor, and Guy led the East with 17 points each.
