Women's Track and Field Ranked Fifth in Southeast RegionFebruary 11, 2014
NEW ORLEANS – The Anderson University women’s indoor track and field team slipped one spot and is ranked fifth in the Southeast Region in the latest U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) poll, released Tuesday afternoon.
The Trojans, who climbed as high as fourth in last week’s rankings, were idle over the weekend. Previously top-ranked Wingate slipped to second, while perennial powerhouse Mount Olive moved up one spot into first. Clayton State stayed steady at No. 3, with Anderson and King University flipping spots, with the Tornado taking the fourth slot and the Trojans in fifth.
Limestone (No. 6) and Mars Hill (7th) also traded places, while Belmont Abbey (eighth), Barton, which vaulted from 12th, and North Greenville (No. 10) rounded out the top 10.
The Trojans are slated to get back in action at the UCS Invitational on Friday and Saturday in Winston-Salem, N.C.
