Cobras Cut Down Anderson In Overtime, 74-69

ANDERSON, S.C. – Coker College rallied from a five-point deficit in the final 1:06 of regulation then outscored Anderson College 11-6 in overtime to upset the Trojans 74-69 in the first round of the 2004 CVAC Tournament at the Abney Center Tuesday night. Anderson, the sixth seed in the tournament, ends its season at 13-15. Anderson beat Coker twice during the regular season, but the third time was the charm for the Cobras. But Rico Stewart banked in a 3-point goal with 1:35 left to give the Cobras a 68-67 lead. Coker never trailed again. After two free throws by Fulwood increased Coker’s lead to 72-69 with 17 seconds remaining, the Trojans got one more shot. Joel C. Zimmerman fired a 3-point shot from the top of the key that bounced away and the Cobras had the upset. Farrow led Coker with 19 points.
