Ramseur Tallies 37 To Lead L-M Past Anderson

ANDERSON, S.C. -- Tyreek Ramseur scored 37 points, 25 in the second half to lead Lees-McRae to an 86-81 victory over Anderson College in a CVAC game Wednesday night at the Abney Center. Ramseur was 14-for-20 from the field, 4-for-8 from behind the arc, and 5-for-5 from the free throw line. He scored 17 of his points during a seven-minute stretch early in the second half. He capped the outburst with two straight 3-point goals and a putback dunk. Aaron Dugger and Henery Williams added 13 points apiece, and Antwon Brown had 12 for the Bobcats, 9-14 overall and 5-11 in the CVAC. Anderson, 10-13 and 6-10, was led by Kennedy Bass with 23 points. Joel C. Zimmerman scored 14, Osvaldo Haynes had 13, and John LeSueur and Chris Poore had 11 apiece. Lees-McRae built a 28-16 lead in the first 13 minutes of the game, but Anderson fought back to tie the game at 33 then take a 41-35 lead at the break. But Ramseur took over in the second half and led the Bobcats from a eight-point deficit early in the half to a 70-60 lead with 5:18 remaining. Anderson got no closer than the final margin of five points in the final five minutes. Anderson shot 50 percent from the field to 46 percent for Lees-McRae. Ramseur also had a game-high 13 rebounds to lead the Bobcats to a 42-34 advantage on the boards. Haynes had 12 rebounds for Anderson. Lees-McRae had 20 second-chance points to just five for Anderson.
