Anderson Holds Off Limestone, 56-53

GAFFNEY, S.C. -- Anderson College built a 10-point lead in the second half and then held on for a 56-53 victory over Limestone in a CVAC game Saturday night. Anderson, 7-7 overall and 3-4 in the CVAC, trailed 30-27 with 17:11 remaining in the game, but four field goals by Chris Poore and two 3-point goals by Travis Tate help fuel a 22-9 AC run for a 49-39 lead with 7:40 to play. Tate hit another 3-point goal to give AC a 55-50 lead with 3:30 to play. That was AC's final field goal. Poore, Tate, and Osvaldo Haynes led AC with 12 points apiece. Ben Touchberry was Limestone's leading scorer with 15 points. Haynes and Kennedy Bass had eight rebounds apiece for the Trojans, who won the boards, 37-33.
