Royals Hold Off Trojans

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Moustapha Diouf and Spencer Ross scored 24 points apiece to lead Queens University of Charlotte to a 78-68 victory over Anderson College in a CVAC game Monday night. Queens, 7-3 overall and 2-1 in the CVAC, led 38-25 at the half. The Trojans managed to cut the deficit to six points with just under five minutes to play before the Royals went on a late run to push their lead back to double digits. Anderson, 5-5 overall and 2-2 in the CVAC, was led by Kennedy Bass with a career-high 24 points and Joel C. Zimmerman with 23 points. Bass was 7-for-14 from the field and 10-for-12 from the free throw line. Queens shot 51 percent from the field while limiting AC to 39 percent. The Trojans made just 4 of 23 shots from behind the arc. AC was 16-for-19 from the line. Led by Bass, who had eight rebounds, the Trojans won the boards, 37-32. In addition to his 24 points, Diouf had seven rebounds, six steals, and five blocks. Ross had eight of Queens’ 20 assists. AC-Queens (N.C.) Box Season Statistics
