Budd Joins Trojan Volleyball Coaching StaffAugust 21, 2013
ANDERSON, S.C. – Hannah Budd, a former standout player at Asbury University, has joined the Anderson volleyball staff as an assistant coach.
“We are very pleased to have Hannah join us as an assistant coach,” said head coach Craig Mosqueda. “She brings a wealth of knowledge as a coach and as a player. Hannah had a great career at Asbury and we hope to use her knowledge as a coach and as a former player to improve our defense and serve receive.”
Budd previously played for Mosqueda at Asbury and the past two years, Budd served as head coach at Trinity Christian Academy and East Jessamine High School in Kentucky before arriving in South Carolina during the summer. She has been active in the club volleyball scene, coaching for five years with clubs BRVC and TEVA in the Bluegrass State.
As a player, Budd was a two-time All-Kentucky Intercollegiate Athletic Conference selection at libero. She left Asbury as the school’s all-time leader in digs, with 2,134 in four years. Budd was a key member of Asbury’s most successful four-year run in school history, as the Eagles won 104 matches and their only two KIAC regular-season titles in school history.
Asbury advanced to the KIAC Tournament championship match in each of Budd’s four seasons and competed in the 2008 NAIA National Tournament, the only appearance in school history.
Budd received a bachelor’s degree in History from Asbury in 2011 and will begin a graduate degree program in January, 2014. She currently resides in Central, S.C. with her husband, T.J.
