AC's Dynamic Duo Knocks Out Knights, 88-66

ANDERSON, S.C. – Robbie Seabrook scored 33 points, including a school single-game record nine 3-point goals, and Donielle Davis added 29 to lead Anderson College to an 88-66 victory over St. Andrews Presbyterian College in a Carolinas-Virginia Athletic Conference men’s game Thursday night at the Abney Center. Anderson, 7-17 overall and 5-12 in the CVAC, never trailed in the game and there was just one tie at 31 with 34 seconds remaining in the first half. The Trojans used six 3-point goals to jump out a 25-9 lead in the first nine minutes of the game. But St. Andrews, 6-18 and 3-14, put together a 22-6 run to tie the game at 31. Davis closed the half with two free throws and a putback to give Anderson a 35-31 lead at the break. Anderson opened the second half with 23-9 run to open up an 18-point lead – 58-40 – with 14:15 to play. Seabrook and Davis made two 3-point goals apiece in the first seven minutes of the second half. St. Andrews got no closer than 13 points the rest of the way. Anderson’s 88 points was a season high. The previous high was 84 against St. Andrews on Jan. 20. The Knights were led by Andrew Duke and Tomas Ivanauskas with 17 points apiece. Seabrook, a senior from North Charleston, was 11 for 17 from the floor and 9 for 13 from behind the arc. Seabrook now has 1,142 points and 213 3-point goals in his career. Seabrook broke his own school record for 3-point goals in a single game. He had eight against Wofford in 1999 and eight against Erskine earlier this season on Feb. 1. Davis, a senior from Greenville, continued his assault at trying to reach 1,000 career points in just two seasons. He needs just 61 more points to reach 1,000. Anderson shot 45 percent from the field to 42 percent for St. Andrews. Davis also had a game-high 14 rebounds, seven off the offensive glass, to help Anderson win the boards, 38-34. The Trojans scored 25 points off 16 St. Andrews turnovers and averaged 1.02 points per possession. Game Statistics Season Statistics
