Crusaders Hand Trojans Their Sixth Straight Loss

BELMONT, N.C. -- Shaun Taylor scored 17 points and had three steals and Belmont Abbey held off a second-half comeback by Anderson College to beat the Trojans, 61-53 in a CVAC men's game Tuesday night. Belmont Abbey, 16-5 overall and 10-4 in the CVAC, jumped out to a 37-21 halftime lead, but AC tried to battle back in the second half. The Trojans outscored the Crusaders 32-24 in the second half. AC, 5-16 and 3-11, was led by Donielle Davis, who scored 21 points and had a game-high eight rebounds. Davis was 9 for 10 from the field, made his lone 3-point attempt, and was 2 for 2 from the line. Robbie Seabrook added 13 and Joel C. Zimmerman chipped in 11 for AC. The Trojans have now lost six straight. Letrasky Pressley added 14 points for Belmont Abbey, which swept the regular-season series with AC. The Crusaders dominated the boards, 43-32, and limited AC to 33 percent shooting from the field.
