Women's Golf Finishes 11th at Hilton Head Lakes Invitational
March 12, 2013HARDEEVILLE, S.C. – The Anderson University women’s golf team slipped from eighth to finish 11th at the Hilton Head Lakes Invitational, hosted by Pfeiffer University Tuesday.
The par-72, 5,901 yard layout saw the Trojans (329-341=670) finish three shots behind Erskine (338-329=667) in 10th and four tokes behind ninth-place Pfeiffer (328-338=666).
Lander (299-305=604), which led at the end of Monday’s opening round, claimed the team title. Queens (307-304=611) moved into second from third a day ago, while Mount Olive (316-305=621), USC Beaufort (306-317=623) and Wingate (329-310=639) rounded out the top five squads.
Freshman Garyt Hamilton (76-82=152) finished in a tie for 16th, with sophomore Natalie Feder (82-88=170) tied for 47th along with sophomore Sarah Timms (84-86=170). Freshman Arista Setro trimmed six strokes from her first round 91 and moved up five spots to share 52nd place, while senior Lindsay Parks (87-102=189) finished 62nd.
The Trojans return to action Monday and Tuesday at the Pinehurst Challenge.
