Trojans Take “Play4Kay" Fundraising Title
March 1, 2013ANDERSON, S.C. – With Anderson University leading the way, the schools in the South Atlantic Conference recently raised $9,000 for the Kay Yow Cancer Fund through the Play4Kay games.
The conference surpassed the overall goal by more than $ 2,000.00, with Anderson raising the highest amount this season with a total $ 2,854.03, marking the first time AU has claimed the honor. AU will be recognized at the 2013 Food Lion Basketball Tournament.
“We are honored to have been a part of the Play4Kay initiative, since it such a worthy cause, and honors such an awesome lady and coach, Kay Yow,” said Anderson Director of Athletics Nancy Simpson. “Many on our campus and within the AU family have been affected by breast cancer, and we are all truly committed to “pay it forward” and be a part of the movement to find a cure. We were also quite blessed that the Anderson Federal Credit Union contributed a gift to our efforts this year. We are truly appreciative that the South Atlantic Conference is so committed to this cause, and that we had such a successful event conference wide.”
