Fort Lewis Rips Trojans, 103-59

BROOKINGS, S.D. -- Trevor Lorz scored 33 points and pulled down six rebounds to lead Fort Lewis (Colo.) to a 103-59 victory over Anderson College in the third-place game of the South Dakota State Holiday Tournament Saturday night at the Frost Arena. Fort Lewis, 4-6 overall, shot 61 percent from the field for the game (41-67), including a blazing 66 percent (22-33) in the first half. Fort Lewis was 15 for 33 from behind the arc. Zack Cole added 15 points, while Kurt Patik and Nick Brooks chipped in 10 apiece for Fort Lewis. Fort Lewis had 31 assists and just nine turnovers in the game. Anderson, 1-6 overall, was led by Donielle Davis with 13 points and Tim Thomas and Robbie Seabrook with 10 points apiece. AC, which has allowed 90 or more points in three of its last four games, shot just 44 percent from the field. The Trojans suffered 22 turnovers. Fort Lewis took command early. Two minutes into the game, AC led 5-4. Thirteen minutes later, Fort Lewis led 44-24. Fort Lewis led 56-31 at the half. AC is off until Monday, Jan. 6 when the Trojans play host to Emmanuel.
