
Former Trojan Standout Signs With Lake Erie Crushers
December 12, 2012ANDERSON, S.C. – Former Trojan third baseman Blake May has signed with the Lake Erie Crushers of the Frontier League.
The standout infielder started 49 contests for the Trojans as a senior last season and earned the South Atlantic Conference Gold Glove award at third base for the second straight year, with a .964 fielding percentage.
May won back-to-back Rawlings/American Baseball Coaches Association Division II Gold Glove honors and earned consecutive All-Southeast Region honors that recognized his exceptional play. He committed only 10 miscues over his junior and senior seasons.
At the plate, May ranked third on the team with a .326 batting average and tied fellow senior Brett Scarberry with 60 hits and 31 RBI. May also led the team with 21 walks on the season.
The Frontier League consists of 12 teams located in Illinois, Ohio, Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan and Pennsylvania.
