Trojan Wrestling Ranked 10th in Super Region One Poll

Telhada Tops at 149-Pound Class

ERIE, Pa. – The Anderson University wrestling team is ranked 10th in the season’s first Super Region I Wrestling Coaches Poll, as released Monday evening.

The Trojans closed out the month of November with two straight wins after opening the season with a brutal schedule and will not return to the friendly confines of the Abney Athletic Center until they play host to Belmont Abbey in mid-January.

Junior 149-pounder Dan Telhada is tabbed at the top spot in his class, while posting an unblemished 7-0 record. The Franklin, Mass. native has notched three pins and a major decision during his season-opening win streak.

Teammate Zak Hale is ranked fifth at 133 pounds after recording five wins, including a pair of pins, during his rookie season. A native of Shaftsburg, Vt., both of Hale’s narrow setbacks have come by just two points.

Anderson will get back on the mats tonight at Spartanburg Methodist, with the match slated for 7 p.m.
