Senior guard Alissa Diaz led the Trojans with 14 points on 6-of-14 shooting from the field, while senior forward Breonda Shannon added eight points. Senior Tilde Ahlin recorded a team-high four rebounds and sophomore Sierra Simpson handed out a team-best three assists.

South Carolina jumped out to a 13-2 lead in the first six minutes and the Trojans were unable to recover, as AU connected on just three of its first 17 shots from the field.

South Carolina plays host to Elon on Frida in the Gamecocks’ season opener, while Anderson opens open the regular season with a two-game homestand, beginning with Conference Carolinas’ foe Pfeiffer on Saturday, then plays host to Erskine on Nov. 14
