Bishoff and Sloan Compete at N.C. State's Raleigh Relays
March 31, 2012RALEIGH, N.C. – Anderson track and field standout seniors Whitney Bishoff and Lauren Sloan competed at N. C. State’s Raleigh Relays Friday and Saturday at NCSU’s Derr Track.
Bishoff notched the 22nd –best overall time, and set a new school record of 16:53.04 in the 5000 meter run, while Sloan notched 18th in the shot put with a toss of 12.26 meters and placed 24th in the hammer throw with a distance of 44.98 meters. She also earned 29th in the discus throw with a distance of 34.75 meters.
Bishoff's time in the 5000 meter was the third-best in D-II in the nation as of Friday night, while Sloan's effort in the hammer throw was a season-best.
More than 2,000 collegiate and high school athletes, including more than 80 colleges and universities, plus several dozen prominent running clubs, participated in the annual event.
