Cheerleading Tryout Dates Announced
March 18, 2012Anderson University Head Cheer Coach Judy Poole has announced tryouts for the 2012-2013 squad.
The cheerleading program is made up of 20 athletes who work very hard supporting all varsity sports.
Tryouts dates are set this year for March 23 from 6 p.m. -9 p.m., and March 24 from 9 a.m. – noon, in the Abney Athletic Center. All candidates are responsible for their overnight accommodations.
TRYOUT REQUIREMENTS:
• STUNTING WITHIN A 4 PERSON GROUP, EITHER AS A TOP, MAIN OR SIDE BASE, OR BACK SPOT – INCLUDES ONE LEGGED STUNTS WITH VARIOUS ELEMENTS.
• TUMBLING PASSES DESIRED BUT NOT REQUIRES, (HANDSPRINGS, TUCKS, ETC)
• ONE CHEER AND DANCE WILL BE TAUGHT AND PERFORMED IN GROUPS OF 3
• ONE CONNECTED JUMP AND TWO ALTERNATE JUMPS
SCHOLARSHIPS ARE AVAILABLE AND AWARD AMOUNTS MAY VARY.
All participants must have a current physical and bring their paperwork to the tryouts to be eligible to participate. You must also have a signed waiver. Both forms are attached.
