Men's Basketball Ranked Eighth in the Southeast Region

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The Anderson men’s basketball team is ranked eighth in the Southeast Region in the NCAA’s first Division II Southeast Region rankings of the season, as released Wednesday night.

Anderson (19-4), which is ranked 24th in the nation in the latest NABC Coaches Poll, currently sits atop the South Atlantic Conference standings, claimed its fifth straight win at Tusculum Wednesday night and has won 12 of its last 13 contests, including a 78-72 home win past top-rated Lincoln Memorial earlier this season.

Lincoln Memorial (23-2), which is ranked eighth in the latest NABC Coaches Poll, tops the Southeast Region rankings and is the other SAC school on the regional list.

The regional rankings are scheduled to be released weekly on Wednesdays through February 29, with the NCAA D-II Tournament selections scheduled to be unveiled on Sunday, March 4.

Eight teams from each of the eight regions will advance to the NCAA Division II tournament. In the Southeast Region, the tournament champions from the SAC, Peach Belt, and Conference Carolinas will receive an automatic bid, with five more at-large selections.

Anderson closes out its regular-season road slate on Saturday at eighth-ranked Lincoln Memorial.
