Trojans Fall to No. Two Newberry on Senior Night
February 15, 2011ANDERSON, S.C. – The Anderson University wrestling team dropped a 47-0 decision to second-ranked Newberry Wednesday night at the Abney Athletic center.
The No. 2-ranked Wolves used a major decision and a pair of pins in the opening three bouts to gain a 16-0 advantage and the Trojans were unable to recover.
The Trojans’ lone senior, Jordan Denmark, battled the Wolves’ Zach Anderson at 197 pounds, but dropped a 10-5 decision.
Anderson will get back in action at the East Region qualifiers on Friday and Saturday, March 24-25, which will be hosted by UNC Pembroke.
