Former Hoops Standout to Play Professionally in EuropeAugust 24, 2011
ANDERSON, S.C. – Former Anderson University men’s basketball standout Trey Britton has inked a contract to play basketball professionally overseas next season for Aanekosken Huima of Finland.
Huima competes in Finland’s Division I, which is the country’s highest level of competition and plays its home games in Aanekosken, Finland. The Huima basketball team went 12-10 last season and finished fifth in its league.
Britton started 32 games for Anderson last season, averaging 10.6 points and five rebounds per game while helping lead the Trojans to their second consecutive NCAA Tournament appearance and their first-ever Elite Eight.
Britton scored a season-high 24 points and garnered seven rebounds versus Georgia College and posted 19 points and recorded eight rebounds against Clayton State.
Britton, who graduated last spring with a degree in business management, will travel to Finland at the end of August to start practicing with the team and their season is slated to begin in October.
