Trumbull Named Conference Player of the Week
March 2, 2011ANDERSON, S.C. – Anderson freshman Lauren Trumbull has been named the South Atlantic Conference Women’s Tennis Player of the Week for the week ending March 1, announced conference officials Wednesday afternoon.
Trumbull, a newcomer from Anderson, S.C. helped lead Anderson to an 8-1 road victory over Mars Hill on the week, while earning two wins on the afternoon. She defeated Mars Hill's Mary Nelson, 6-0, 6-1 at No. 4 singles to win her third straight match and run her overall singles record to 4-1 on the season. At No. 2 doubles, she partnered with Avery Owens to defeat the Mars Hill team of Nelson and Anna Rickenbaker, 8-5.
Trumbull is undefeated in conference action on both the singles and doubles side this season.
The Trojans get back on courts Saturday versus Georgia College.
