Men's Tennis Falls at USC Upstate
February 16, 2011ANDERSON, S.C. – Anderson’s Loic Ambrose claimed a win on the singles’ side, but the Trojan men’s tennis team suffered a 6-1 loss at USC Upstate Wednesday afternoon.
Anderson (1-2) got off to a solid start as Stan Atema and Daniel Gonzalez teamed up to defeat Ramiro Blanco and Gonzalo Blanco, 8-5, at the No. 1 slot, but AU was unable to maintain the momentum, as the Trojans dropped the No. 2 and No. 3 spots.
Ambrose earned a 7-6, 7-5 win past the Spartans’ Gianluca Paino for AU’s lone singles’ win.
Anderson gets back in action quickly, as the Trojans play host to Catawba Tuesday afternoon.
