April 15, 2010FLORENCE, S.C. -- The Anderson women's tennis team closed out the 2010 regular season by falling, 7-2, to 13th-ranked Francis Marion Wednesday afternoon at the Kassab Courts.
With the setback, Anderson slipped to 10-8 on the season while the Patriots improved to 15-4. The Trojan tandem of Angie Solorzano and Emily Weiland blanked FMU’s Kerry Hall and Karine Augur, 8-0, to earn one of AU’s wins as they claimed their third consecutive win and improved to 6-1 on the season. Weiland collected her second win of the day with a default past Karine Augur at the No. 6 singles’ slot.
Anderson had its two-match win streak snapped, but will be looking to get back on the winning track when the fourth-seeded Trojans face fifth-seeded Pfeiffer in first-round action of the 2010 Conference Carolinas Tournament on Friday. First-serve is slated for 9 a.m. at the Sumter Tennis Center in Sumter, S.C.
