March 29, 2009BANNER ELK, NC--The Anderson University Lady Trojans finally resumed action Saturday after a hiatus for spring break was lengthened due to inclimate weather; the Lady Trojans had a rough go of it too, as Lees-McRae beat AU 8-1 at the Grandfather Mountain Golf and Country Club in women’s Conference Carolinas tennis action. Lees-McRae grabbed an early 3-0 lead by winning all three doubles matches; then to seal the victory, Lees-McRae won the first two matches in singles competition. The Lady Trojans find themselves at 2-4 in Conference Carolinas play. With over half of the 2009 season remaining, the young team still has time to put together a run. AU's match at home against Francis Marion on Sunday is cancelled; the Lady Trojans resume action on Tuesday in road make-up at USC Aiken. Singles 1. Gabriela Celi (LMC) def.
