WILSON, N.C. – The Anderson College women’s tennis team lost two CVAC matches Friday and Saturday. On Friday, Lauren Harris went three sets to win the decisive match at No. 6 singles as Mount Olive outlasted Anderson 5-4 at the Walker Tennis Center. Temperatures had dipped into the 30's by the time the match ended at 8:30 p.m. Mount Olive (3-1 overall, 1-0 CVAC) led 2-1 after doubles play and extended the lead to 4-1 after straight set wins by Lucia Henkle at No. 1 singles and Mariana Shimoda at No. 2 singles. But Anderson rallied to tie the match 4-4, setting the stage for Harris. After splitting the first two sets and falling behind 2-0 in the third set, Harris came back to seal the win for Mount Olive. On Saturday, Barton blanked Anderson, 9-0. The Lady Trojans lost all of the singles matches in straight sets and won just nine games in the six singles matches.
