TROJANS FALL TO COLUMBUS STATE TO END SEASON

MILLEDGEVILLE, GA--Philip Pakebusch and Navaneetha Baskaran won their second straight NCAA regional doubles match, but it was not enough, as the #22 ranked Trojans fell to #8 Columbus State on Friday to end their season and their bid for an NCAA Regional title. The Trojans also got wins from Renato Assuncao and Pakebusch in singles play. AU finishes what has been an incredible run after winning their 8th conference title in 8 years and coach Joey Eskridge, in his 3rd month on the job will regroup and vamp up the recruiting effort for next year. "We made a good run," said coach Eskridge. "We were not as fit at the end as I would have liked for us to be, but with all that went on coming into this tournament, the guys poured on all they could." AU ends the season with a 14-7 overall ranking, and a finish that could have gone much worse with a brand new head coach. Final Match Results
