Joey Eskridge's men's team beat an opponent ranked ahead of them in the ITA national poll, topping their regional rival in a tight 5-4 battle on Wednesday at Max Grubbs Tennis Complex. Freshman Stephane Murray continued his dominance, improving to 7-0 in conference singles competition (12-1 overall). Adding to his repatoire, Murray and senior Marc Pibernat won their doubles match and Murray improved to 5-2 in conference doubles competition. The Trojans took 2 out of 3 doubles matches and got crucial wins from last year's ITA rookie of the year Philip Pakebush, and from Murray. The deciding match was won by the senior Pibernat. Joey Eskridge. "The guys are really starting to build the momentum that we gotta have moving forward and it's just fun to watch." AU is off tomorrow, and they will need the rest. On Friday the Trojans travel to ITA #1 Armstrong Atlantic in Savannah, GA. Then, on Saturday they head down the road to battle ITA #4 Valdosta State.
