April 7, 2009WILSON, NC--The Trojan tennis team defeated Barton 8-1 today; with the win, the Trojans improve to 5-1 in conference play this year and sit in second place in Conference Carolinas, as they head down the home stretch of the season. Freshman Stephane Murray improved to 9-1 on the year, as he has lost just three sets in singles competition for the year. "We are really starting to click at the right time," said head coach
Joey Eskridge. "With all the schedule issues we have had, I am pleased with how this team has responded--especially lately." AU faces a tough week, as they will do battle on the road against ITA #2 Valdosta State and ITA #5 Armstrong Atlantic. All this to make a go at a conference title, and hopefully avenge a mid-season loss to Lees-McRae in the process.
