AU MEN KILL COBRAS 9-0; WOMEN DROP 2ND IN A ROW

HARTSVILLE, SC--The ITA #17 Anderson University men's tennis team is on a mission this year; Friday it was Coker College that were unfortunate enough to stand in their way, as the AU men took care of the Cobras in a technical display, winning 9-0 on the road, dropping only 10 games and not losing a single set all day long. Freshman standout, Stephane Murray, continued to make his claim as ITA rookie of the year, as he remained undefeated--yet to lose even the first set of his college career. The AU women fell for the second time in a row in a Conference Carolinas matchup, losing 6-3 to the Lady Cobras. Three of the Lady Trojans six losses were decided on break points in the third set. "The ladies just caught some tough breaks today," said head coach Joey Eskridge. "But we have a tough group and they'll bounce back." The AU men have a schedule down the stretch that will be a true plumb line as to their real talent level. Monday the Trojans go to Valdosta, GA, to take on ITA #2 Valdosta State. And on April 10 they will take on former #1 and current #5 Armstrong Atlantic. Ask Joey Eskridge and he will tell you that he most certainly believes a Conference Carolinas title is in the picture; with the Trojans upcoming schedule, we will soon find out whether or not a national title is a legitimate possibility.
