Sanches Named CVAC Player Of The Week
April 5, 2006THOMASVILLE, N.C. -- Carlos Sanches of Anderson University (12-3 overall, 9-0 CVAC) has been selected as the NCAA Division II Carolinas-Virginia Athletics Conference (CVAC) men's tennis Player of the Week. Sanches improved both his CVAC singles and doubles records to 9-0 last week. He lost just four singles games on his way to two singles victories over St. Andrews and Queens and teamed with Gustavo Carvalho to pick up a pair of doubles victories. Sanches is now 13-2 in singles and 12-3 in doubles. He has won four straight singles matches and 12 of his last 13. He and Carvalho also have won 12 of their last 13 doubles matches.
